SkinMedica SPF- Essential Defense Mineral Shield Sunscreen SPF 35 Review

SkinMedica SPF- Essential Defense Mineral Shield Sunscreen SPF 35⠀⁣
⠀⁣
Normally I would never be happy with a sunscreen that gives a white cast but this is an exception. ⠀⁣
⠀⁣
There are very few sunscreens out there that make it around the eyes for me. I have itchy, hyperpigmented, hereditary dark circles, sore, tired post accutane dry eyes……(flattering nonetheless 😉). Only Mineral/Physical SPFs can go around my eyes. No Chemical SPF as of yet has ever made it around my eye area without making me weep. ⠀⁣
⠀⁣
On the downside, this SPF leaves a glaring almost luminous glow in the dark white cast. In theory, being a POC I should hate this but honestly this is the first sunscreen I am torn over. It is one of the very few sunscreens that does not irritate my eyes. Most sunscreens either leave my eyes stinging, watering, itchy the moment an itsy bitsy bit gets inside them. This on the other hand, is just wonderful. ⠀⁣
⠀⁣
The brand says that it is a “sheer & lightweight mineral sunscreen. Protects skin against damaging UVA & UVB rays. Suitable for post procedure & sensitive skin types. Paraben-free oil-free fragrance-free & hypoallergenic. Does not clog pores.”⠀⁣
⠀⁣
Overall it sits beautifully on the skin, moisturises, does not break me out, does not make my skin oily or dry and is calming. The luminous cast also disappears after a while.⠀⁣
⠀⁣
Darker skin tones: will not appreciate the white luminous cast but this does disappear with some effort (a bit of rubbing in).⠀⁣
