“True Acne Scars” and 4 Professional Treatments

Ok so for the 3 part series I really wanted to talk about professional treatments when addressing scars because topical skincare can only achieve a certain level of results and medical attention is usually necessary for deeper scarring.
.⁣⁣
Here are a few points to note:⁣⁣
⁣⁣
✅Always do your best to prevent scarring from happening as treating scarring is going to be far more difficult than preventing it.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
✅All professional procedures have risk associated with them so make sure you speak to a trusted professional to assess your risk- for example darker skin tones run a very high risk of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation when any type of trauma is introduced to the skin.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
✅Different types of treatments will best suit different types of scarring. A professional will be able to guide you better on what type or combinations of treatments will work best to address your scarring in some cases you might only need localised treatment for 1-2 deep scars. @drdavinlim is wonderful to follow if you want to go into depth on professional treatment specifically related to acne scars. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
✅Always make sure you have dealt with the “active” acne stage before you consider any acne treatments otherwise you might just be wasting your time, effort and money. ⁣⁣ ✅ Lastly there is great power in embracing your scars and the battles you have won. If you have some treatments done, or you are happy with the results skincare has given you – That’s is awesome! Reaching a level of acceptance with any facial scarring ( I have some small ones from injuries and scratch marks) is so important. ❤️❤️❤️
⁣⁣.
📝This is just a brief guide. I really cannot stress enough about making appointments to see a professional who can actually assess your skin for any contraindications before determining what treatment is best. This will be important to reduce any side effects. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Ok, now we are done on this topic. Hope it all helped.
