Zelens Vitamin D Oil Serum Review

Noticing skin flare ups? Looking to support your retinoid use during this lockdown?⠀

Having a good lipid-replenishing and barrier fortifying serum in your arsenal can help work wonders. @zelensskincare Vitamin D is one of those oil serums that just works well in helping support the skin barrier. It helps to strengthen, fortify and calm the skin whilst helping protect the skin against environmental aggressors. It is primarily used to reinforce the skin barrier function and address compromised skin barriers by replenishing skin lipids as well as plumping the skin with collagen-boosting Tripeptide 29 and Hyaluronic Acid.⠀

✅Texture – light-ish (if there is such a word), absorbs relatively quickly on oily skins and I can imagine dry skins will just suck this up fast. ⠀

✅Smell: negligible- nothing too overwhelming⠀
⠀
✅Suitable for: all skin types, blemish-prone/oily skins will need to tread carefully.⠀
⠀
Key Ingredients:⠀
🔆Vitamin D3 -Pro Vitamin D (7-Dehydrocholesterol) – converted to Vitamin D3 under sunlight⠀
🔆Hydrating- Hyaluronic Acid⠀
🔆Moisturising, conditioning, repairing, soothing: Omega 3,6, Phospholipids and Sphingolipids, Glycolipids, Sterol Complex,⠀
🔆Collagen Boosting & Repairative: Tripeptide 29⠀
🔆Protecting: Antioxidant Vitamin E, Yeast, ⠀
⠀
Experience: ⠀
1️⃣Dry skins will find this a very light oil and notice that it just gets completely sucked up by their skin, whilst oiler skins will find this absorbs relatively well and doesn’t just sit on the skin. Congestion and blemish-prone skins will need to patch test and use sparingly. ⠀

2️⃣Hot Humid Climates: ⠀
Unfortunately, I could not use this during the day when I trialled it primarily because it’s so incredibly hot and humid during the period I used this so it was mostly reserved for my trips back home to the UK or in the evening. I also paired this with Neostrata Retinol + NAG Complex Cream to limit the side effects.⠀

4️⃣Beamwonder Tip:⠀
Great supportive serum to increase the frequency of your nightly retinoid use whilst avoid flaky/barrier/irritation related issues.⠀
⠀
Do you have a favourite barrier repair cream you are enjoying right now? ⠀
